The Wisdom - a picture speaks a thousand words -
If you look at someone, even from behind, they will usually sense that you are looking at them. This is because we, and everything around us, is an energetic body and the energy flows between us. The earth is an energetic body. We see the land and the land sees us - there is an exchange - and from all interractions we learn about the world and about ourselves.
We observe a photograph of the river.
We are all very aware when a photograph is taken. Some pose outrageously, some stand awkwardly and some hide behind a tree, or put their head down. A photograph grasps a moment in time, energetic electrons come into contact with the camera lens, and the moment is recorded. It is well known that when visitors want to photograph local inhabitants it is often denied, saying that the photograph taken contains (or steals) part of the soul. The life essence has been held.
We observe a photograph of the river.
It appears stationery and yet at the same time we know it is moving.
Werner Heisenberg put forth the Uncertainty Principle now a mainstream theory of quantum mechanics. This has a basis in the energies of light - light is needed for us to see. Light is composed of particle and wave energy. The principle states that because electrons are never stationery each time you observe them they will be in a different place. Thus two people never see an electron in the same place and thus there will always be differences between the observations of two or more people.
These interractions and observations leads us to the belief that we each create our own reality. If two people look at a photograph, after describing the obvious they will see different facets of the picture, drawing on their own experience of life.

What we are looking at is water. Masaru Emoto's work in capturing the energy of water in photographs of crystals brings a beauty to science and to our personal understanding of our world.
